Agitator
A mechanical device used to maintain solid particles in suspension, promote chemical reactions, or enhance mass transfer in processing tanks. In gold processing plants, agitators are critical in carbon-in-leach (CIL) and carbon-in-pulp (CIP) circuits to ensure intimate contact between ore slurry and activated carbon. In alumina refineries, agitators maintain bauxite slurry in suspension during digestion and precipitation stages.
