Belt Alignment

The process of ensuring a conveyor belt runs centrally along the conveyor structure without drifting sideways, to prevent spillage, edge wear, and structural damage. Belt misalignment causes material spillage, accelerated belt wear, damage to idlers and structures, and potential fire hazards from friction. Alignment is maintained through correct installation, adjustable idlers, and automatic belt tracking systems. Regular monitoring and adjustment of belt alignment is essential maintenance practice in mining conveyor operations.
