Benchmarking Study

A systematic comparison of operational, financial, or technical performance indicators of a mining operation against industry peers, best-practice operations, or internal historical data. Benchmarking studies identify performance gaps, improvement opportunities, and best practices that can be adopted to enhance efficiency, safety, and profitability. In mining, benchmarking covers areas such as mining costs, processing recovery, energy consumption, maintenance effectiveness, labour productivity, and safety performance. Results inform strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
