Beneficiation Plant Design

The engineering discipline involving the conceptual, prefeasibility, and detailed design of processing facilities for mineral concentration or upgrading. Plant design integrates process flowsheet development, equipment selection and sizing, civil and structural engineering, electrical and instrumentation systems, and safety and environmental controls. In iron ore, bauxite, gold, and diamond mining, plant design is based on metallurgical testwork, ore characterisation, throughput requirements, and product specifications to create a cost-effective and operationally reliable facility.
