Beneficiation Recovery
The proportion of the valuable mineral or metal in the feed ore that is successfully recovered in the beneficiated product, expressed as a percentage. Higher recovery maximises the economic value extracted from the resource. Recovery is influenced by ore mineralogy, liberation characteristics, process design, and operating conditions. In gold mining, recovery measures the percentage of gold reporting to the final product; in iron ore, it is the proportion of Fe-bearing mineral captured in the product stream relative to feed.
