Billet

A semi-finished metal product of rectangular or square cross-section produced from cast metal by rolling or extrusion, used as feedstock for further processing into structural shapes, wire, or tube. In the context of gold refining, gold billets are cast bars of specific dimensions and purity for storage, transport, or trading. In the aluminium industry, billets are cast aluminium alloy products extruded into profiles for construction and manufacturing applications, representing a downstream value-added product of bauxite mining and refining.
