Booster Pump
An auxiliary pump installed in a pipeline or process system to supplement the pressure generated by a primary pump, enabling fluid transport over longer distances, greater elevation changes, or higher flow rates than a single pump can achieve. In mining, booster pumps are used in slurry pipelines for tailings and concentrate transport, water supply systems, process plant circuits, and dewatering systems. Pump selection and staging are designed to maintain required flow rates and pressures throughout the system while minimising energy consumption and maintenance requirements.
