Bulk Sampling
The collection of large representative samples of ore or mineralised material, typically ranging from several tonnes to thousands of tonnes, to obtain statistically reliable data on grade, mineralogy, and processing characteristics for resource evaluation. Bulk sampling provides larger sample volumes than drill core, reducing the nugget effect in high-grade or heterogeneous deposits. In alluvial gold and diamond mining, bulk sampling is essential to define economic viability. In hard rock gold projects, bulk sampling supports pilot plant testwork and feasibility level resource estimates.
