Crusher Liner

Crusher liners are replaceable wear components installed inside a crusher to protect the structural body of the machine from abrasive wear caused by the ore being processed. In mining operations involving bauxite, gold, iron ore, and diamonds — all of which involve highly abrasive materials — crusher liners are critical consumables that must be periodically inspected and replaced to maintain crusher performance and product size specifications. Common liner types include jaw plates (fixed and swing), mantles and concaves for cone crushers, and blow bars and impact plates for impact crushers. Liners are typically manufactured from manganese steel alloys (12–18% manganese) or chrome-moly steel, chosen for their high work-hardening properties and resistance to impact and abrasion. Liner wear profiles are regularly monitored using manual measurements or 3D scanning technologies. Worn liners alter the crusher chamber geometry, resulting in coarser product sizes, reduced throughput, and increased power consumption. Planned liner change-outs are scheduled during preventive maintenance windows to minimize unplanned downtime.
