Daily Production

Daily production in mining refers to the total quantity of ore, mineral, or overburden material that is extracted, processed, or moved within a single 24-hour operational period. In bauxite mining, daily production metrics typically capture the volume of bauxite ore excavated from open-pit mines and transported to processing facilities where alumina is extracted. In gold mining, it includes the tonnage of ore mined and fed through crushing, milling, and leaching circuits to recover gold doré. For iron ore operations, it encompasses the total tonnes of iron ore mined, beneficiated, and stockpiled or shipped. In diamond mining, daily production measures both the volume of kimberlite or alluvial material processed and the number or weight of recovered diamonds. Daily production figures are critical key performance indicators (KPIs) used by mine management to assess operational efficiency, benchmark against production targets, plan workforce scheduling, manage equipment utilization, forecast revenue, and ensure that the mine is progressing in accordance with the mine plan and feasibility study projections.
