Drill Rig

A drill rig is a complete drilling system that includes the machinery, support equipment, and structural framework required to drill boreholes. Drill rigs are widely used in mineral exploration, mine development, hydrogeological studies, and geotechnical investigations. In bauxite, gold, iron ore, and diamond exploration, drill rigs may perform diamond core drilling, reverse circulation drilling, or rotary drilling. A typical drill rig consists of a mast, power unit, rotary head, feed mechanism, drill string, and control systems. Depending on the terrain and drilling objectives, rigs may be truck-mounted, crawler-mounted, skid-mounted, or portable. Modern drill rigs incorporate automation technologies that improve drilling precision, safety, and productivity. They can collect valuable geological samples and subsurface data essential for resource evaluation.
