The Kindia Bauxite Project, located in Guinea's Kindia Prefecture, is one of the country's most established mining operations. Managed by the Compagnie des Bauxites de Kindia (CBK) and operated by Russian aluminum giant RUSAL under a concession extended until 2051, it targets annual output of up to 5 million tonnes. The project utilizes open-pit extraction and a dedicated rail link to Conakry port. Ongoing modernization includes new locomotives, freight wagons, and rail infrastructure upgrades. With over 1,750 personnel, it remains a critical raw material source for international alumina refineries, though geopolitical pressures increasingly shape its supply chain dynamics.
